The Frisco Pedestrian Promenade will return by popular demand, on the afternoon of Friday June 18, 2021. The promenade will be located on Frisco, Colorado’s historic Main Street from 2nd Avenue to 5th Avenue. This three block stretch will be open only to pedestrian and bike traffic. The Frisco Promenade will feature open air dining, shopping and leisurely strolling.
The Promenade will be improved to include a bike lane to promote safety. Other improvements to the Frisco Promenade include more attractive fencing, better signage and public art. Unlike last summer, 3rd Avenue will be closed to through traffic, however, 2nd, 4th, and 5th Avenues will still allow for vehicle and through traffic.
You may have noticed the “parklets” popping up on Frisco Main Street in the last year. The parklets allow businesses to increase their dining and shopping areas onto the parking spaces. This was made possible by a $50,000 Main Street Revitalization grant from the Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT).
Originally, the Frisco Promenade opened up in the Summer of 2020 to enhance social distancing in response to COVID-19. The Promenade gave businesses the opportunity to increase their space to encourage shopping and dining on Main Street. Luckily, the Promenade is returning due to the success for local Frisco, Colorado businesses and the positive response/feedback received from locals and visitors alinke.
